Knitter's Review

Needles in a jar

Splitty yarns are the pits.

As tempting as it is to blame the yarn, part of the problem stems from the needles we're using. If the tips don't get along with the yarn's fibers, twist, and ply construction, you're headed for splitsville. Change the needles, and you may live happily ever after.

This week we explore needle tips, the pointy, mid-ranged, and blunt alike, to help ensure each of your projects is a happy one.

Retreat News
Details about the 14th annual Knitter's Review Retreat are almost ready! I am thrilled to note that Nancy Marchant will be crossing the pond from Amsterdam to join us, along with Lorilee Beltman, Amy Herzog, and Bristol Ivy. All the details will be posted on August 1st. (You can sign up to be emailed as soon as they go live.) Details will also be in the August 6th newsletter, and registration takes place on Friday, August 7th, at 12 noon Eastern time. I hope you can join us!

In the Forums: Back and Forth, Round and Round
Mary Ellen is a recently converted swatcher. She's fine with the back-and-forth stuff, but what happens when you're swatching for a project that's worked both flat and in the round?

Need help logging into the Forums?

As always, I thank you for letting me be a part of your knitting life.

We'll talk again in two weeks!
