Knitter's Review

The beauty of unraveled stitches

"I tried to knit," they tell me, "but I kept dropping stitches and having to wait until the next class for someone to fix the mess I'd made."

A few weeks later, still not knowing how to fix those dropped stitches on their own, they stop knitting altogether. Can you blame them?

This week I'll tell you about a tool so simple, so vital, that it should be required for every new knitter. Called Fix-A-Stitch, I'll let you guess what it does.

See You At Squam?
Next weekend, I'm speaking at New Hampshire's legendary Squam Art Workshops. The event is sold out, but the Squam Art Fair & Ravelry Revelry on Saturday June 6 from 7:30 to 10pm is open to all, and I'll be there with books and a few precious skeins of Clara Yarn. I do hope you'll come!

That same weekend, the Maine Fiber Frolic takes over the Windsor Fairgrounds in Windsor, Maine, while in Franklin, Indiana, the Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival will take place at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. You'll find many more things to do in our extensive online calendar of events.

In the Forums: Summer Socks?
Now that the temps have turned warm, Alvern wants to knit a pair of summer socks. Most of the patterns call for wool, but she's wondering how cotton would substitute. What do you recommend?

Need help logging into the Forums?

I'm headed off to Columbus this weekend for the semiannual TNNA trade show, and I promise to tell you all about what's in store for us when I get back.

As always, I thank you for letting me be a part of your knitting life.

We'll talk again in two weeks!
