Knitter's Review
September 12, 2013
orange Lumio

If I told you I was reviewing an acrylic yarn that glows in the dark when you shine light on it, you'd probably check your calendar to see if it was April 1st. I don't blame you. After the recycled kitty litter and dental floss reviews, who can blame you for being suspicious?

But such a yarn really exists. It's called Lumio, and this week I give it a try.

This Weekend in Maine
Thank you for warmly welcoming my new book, The Yarn Whisperer. This Friday—that's right, Friday the 13th (wooo!)—I'll be reading, talking, and signing at the Blue Hill Library in lovely downtown Blue Hill, Maine. Please come. You can find the details here.

Coming Up
I foresee an excellent weekend for any of you living in southwest Colorado and hankering for a getaway. The Ouray region, renowned for its hot springs, is hosting the first-annual Sneffels Fiber Festival. The event takes place September 13-14 at the 4-H Events Center at the Ouray County Fairgrounds in the nearby town of Ridgway. They've scheduled workshops, demonstrations, and a great big marketplace.
