Knitter's Review
April 11, 2013
Casey the cat interrupts a photo shoot with Bartlett Yarns' Down East yarn

Knitting is tricky business. We usually pick our sweater patterns like clothing out of a catalog. We pick the best yarn, choose the size, and dutifully execute the instructions, stitch by stitch.

We make a beautiful garment, but how often does it really fit us to perfection, much less flatter our figures? Not often enough.

Amy Herzog has been on a mission to change this, first with her Fit to Flatter workshops and now, with her new much anticipated book, Knit to Flatter. Amy is that wise, nonjudgmental friend you can trust to steer you away from the stinkers and toward projects that make you feel truly fabulous every single time you wear them.

Upcoming Events
Following up on last year's success, the second-annual Yarn Crawl LA County takes place this week, from Thursday to Sunday April 14th. Thirty two yarn stores (including this country's very first yarn truck) are taking part across LA County, from Santa Monica and Santa Clarita to Long Beach and Claremont. An equally astounding number of sponsors have ponied up for tote bags, passports, and prizes throughout the weekend.

In the Forums: Which Whorl?
Anna has decided to give spinning a whorl (sorry, couldn't resist). Now she needs help picking a spindle. Her goal? Fine yarn she can ply into DK-weight singles. Any recommendations?
