Knitter's Review
January 31, 2013
a bouquet of TSCArtyarns yarns

If your LYS seems understaffed this weekend, it's because they've headed to Long Beach for the semiannual TNNA trade show. They'll be mingling, sunning, perusing, and ordering new yarns for spring.

Here's a peek at something new they'll be considering from a fresh partnership between Tahki Stacy Charles and Artyarns.

Up With (Sweater) People!
In Rotterdam a woman has been knitting sweaters since 1955. More than 550, in fact, all lovingly tucked away in her home. Recently she was honored with one of the happiest, most colorful flashmobs I've ever seen. Every sweater you see was knit by her. Have a look.

Coming Soon to a Theater Near You
We're having a blast with my Great White Bale adventure. Last week I traveled to rural Texas to see one of the last commercial-scale wool scouring plants in North America. Here's a teaser clip for you.

This Weekend
This Saturday marks the seventh-annual Knit Michigan in Bloomfield Hills. The volunteer-led event is dedicated to raising funds for Michigan cancer organizations through a marketplace, a silent auction, and workshops. Meanwhile, Freeport, Maine, hosts the 11th-annual New England Textile Arts Network's Spa, Knit, and Spin at the Hilton Garden Inn & Harraseeket Inn. Perfect for the heart of winter.

In the Forums: Curly Circs
Pam asks, "Has anyone come up with a good way to straighten their circular needle cables?" Indeed they have!

As ever, I thank you for letting me be a part of your knitting life.

I'll talk to you again on Valentine's Day!
