Knitter's Review
November 3, 2011
a lofty perch

I've fallen in love and its name is Loft. Made from the lively fleeces of sheep that graze on the western U.S. rangelands, and dyed and spun at a historic mill in New Hampshire, this fine, springy yarn embodies all that is good about wool. Please help me welcome the newest addition to Jared Flood's Brooklyn Tweed yarn family.

This Weekend in California
By the time you read this, I'll be in San Mateo for the first-ever Interweave Knitting Lab. While the Alice Starmore keynote is sold out, several classes still have spots open, and the vendor line-up for the marketplace looks extraordinary. The event runs Thursday through Sunday. On Sunday evening, I sneak across the bay to Oakland's A Verb for Keeping Warm for a reception from 5 to 6pm. Perhaps you'll come?

In the Forums: Same Lot, Different Colors?
Draymer is working on a beautiful sweater that uses a black yarn and a white one. She's just noticed a clear demarcation across the sleeve where she'd joined two different skeins of the black yarn—both of which were the same, exact dye lot. How is this even possible? Have you had this happen, and do you have any tips for what she can do?
