Knitter's Review
January 13, 2011
a swatch of simple Merino

This week we make a sharp U-turn away from rustic, crunchy wool yarns. Our destination? A soft and luxurious Merino that's been grown, scoured, combed, and spun in Australia—which is actually more rare than you'd think. Meet Pear Tree Yarns Supersoft 8-Ply.

Next Weekend in New York
The first-ever Vogue Knitting Live takes place January 21-23 in New York. In addition to classes (some of which still have spots available) and a huge marketplace, there are one-hour presentations taking place throughout the weekend. I'll be teaching about yarn and delivering my State of the Yarn Union address on Sunday morning at 9am. I hope to see you there!

In the Forum: Seamless Seaming
Deb has finished a cardigan and is ready to assemble all the pieces. She's asked us to suggest the best method for doing this. What would you recommend?

Flock to Go
Do you dream of having your own flock of sheep? Create the most persuasive three-minute video explaining why you want to be a shepherd, and you might just win one of two flocks of Cormo sheep or Angora goats that Juniper Moon Farm is giving away. What would you do with a flock of Cormo?

As always, I thank you for your readership and your support.

Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums,
Clara Parkes
