Knitter's Review
January 6, 2011
a foxy sheep and a Foxen Sheep

Have your fingers grown bored from all the softness and sameness in your yarns? Be careful. The less we expose ourselves to nuance, the less nuance our fingers will ever feel—or appreciate.

To kick-start the senses, I present a yarn so rare, so esoteric that only 4,000 sheep exist that can produce it. It's a yarn with spunk and character, one that stands up straight and tells a great story—with a German accent no less. Meet Coburg Fox wool from Nature's Luxury.

Heifer Tally
I'm proud to report that when the clock struck midnight on December 31st, our Heifer International fundraiser tally reached a princely sum of $5,962—all of which goes toward passing sustainable livelihoods to people and communities around the world. I'm in awe of the positive change your support has the potential to effect around the world. Thank you.

In the Forum: Snaggy Circs
Klara has come up with a clever way to smooth snaggy joins in circular needles. Would you be willing to try it on your needles, though?

Farewells
On a sad note, we mourn the passing of Beverly Galeskas on December 29th. As the owner of Fiber Trends and author of Felted Knits, Bev brought countless knitters into the felting fold with her warm spirit and her friendly and approachable patterns. She will be dearly missed.

As always, I thank you for your readership and your support.

Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums,
Clara Parkes
