Knitter's Review

a shallot symphony

Is beauty only skein deep? My mention of those precious, highly coveted skeins in our stashes last week got me thinking.

Looking for new yarns that could join the collection, I came upon a beaded mohair and silk concoction infused with glittering metallic gold—a stunning yarn that belongs on a bridal veil or draped around the necks of royalty. But what's it like on the needles? Join me for a look at Tilli Tomas Symphony Lace.

This Weekend
Festival-goers, this is your weekend! In Taos, New Mexico, the Wool Festival at Taos takes over Kit Carson Park. Meanwhile, the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival unfolds at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds in Tunbridge. Folks in Montpelier Station, Virginia, can visit the Fall Fiber Festival of Virginia. And, if you happen to be in Chicago, you can stop by the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse on Saturday for YarnCon Chicago. Those are just a few highlights of what's happening this weekend.

In the Forum: Stitch Markers
We're talking about stitch markers. How often do you actually use stitch markers, and how often do you improvise with random, repurposed objects that do the job equally well? What do you use?
