Knitter's Review
January 21, 2010
The view from Clara's desk

Last week I teased you with TNNA tales of gorgeous new products that you won't see at your LYS for many more weeks to come.

This week instead we look at an intriguing yarn that was released at the last TNNA and is now widely available at yarn stores. It's a plush, somewhat unusual yarn from Italy that blends extra fine Merino with the warm, delicate fibers of an unlikely animal: baby camel. Meet Classic Elite Kumara.

Milling Around in Rhode Island
What could be more fun than spending the weekend at this country's first water-powered spinning mill? It's called Slater Mill, and it's located along the Blackstone River in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

This weekend, the National Historic Landmark hosts the second-annual Knitting Weekend. The event begins on Friday night with a reception, Berroco trunk show, and reception with Mary Jane Mucklestone. It continues through Saturday and Sunday with workshops and a marketplace.
