Knitter's Review
December 10, 2009
have a cup of tea

It's already December 10th. The month has passed so quickly. Am I the only one who feels woefully behind?

All my plans for elaborate handknitted gifts are going out the window. Fortunately, I've compiled a backup list of seven lovely knitted gift patterns that use a minimal amount of yarn and time. With Pam Allen, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, Jared Flood, Ysolda Teague, and yours truly in your pocket, how can you go wrong?

The Gift of Change
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. The work of Heifer International spans both sides of Lao Tzu's proverb—the organization gives livestock to deserving people around the world, and it also teaches those people how to care for these animals so that their impact can grow exponentially with each generation.

For the eighth year in a row, I am supporting the Heifer International with a year-end Knitter's Review fundraising effort. If you find yourself in a position of even modest abundance this year, I encourage you to join me in contributing to this worthy cause.

In the Forum: Looking Ahead
Zola has begun thinking about 2010, and she has already determined that the New Year will be all about finishing. What about you?
