Knitter's Review

Cat Bordhi sprang into the knitting world in 2001 when she self-published a simple little book about how to knit socks on two circular needles. She has since become a sock-knitting luminary renowned for her ability to see things in unexpected ways.

Today marks the official release of her newest book, a much-anticipated guide to yet another new way of knitting socks. This one promises to be the simplest yet, which might be why she used the word "insouciant" in the title. Can Cat really "do" simple?

This Weekend
Festival-goers, this is your weekend! In Taos, New Mexico, the Wool Festival at Taos takes over Kit Carson Park. Meanwhile, the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival unfolds at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds in Tunbridge. Folks in Hudson, New York, can take a Hudson River Yarn Cruise. And if you happen to be in New Jersey this weekend, you can stop by Ridgewood for the first annual North Jersey Fiber Arts Festival. Those are just a few highlights of what's happening this weekend.

In the Forum: Sock Clubs?
For a while, everybody was abuzz about sock clubs. It seemed like we couldn't get enough of them. Lately, though, the hysteria seems to have subsided. One Forum member wants to know if the clubs have gone underground or if they've really become a thing of the past. What do you think?
