Knitter's Review
April 16, 2009
Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock and a clivia blossom

In just a few short weeks, the Connecticut Sheep, Wool, and Fiber Festival will kick off the summer 2009 fiber festival season. If you've never been to a fiber festival, Joanne Seiff's new book Fiber Gathering is a perfect introduction. She takes you on an armchair journey to 10 major festivals across the United States, also showing a sheep being shorn, teaching how to hand-dye a multicolored yarn, and giving the recipe for a perfect apple crisp. The book is almost as good as the real thing, but with no parking hassles and far fewer calories.

This Week in Minnesota
The Minnesota Knitters' Guild hosts its 23rd annual Yarnover, a day-long knitting bash on Saturday, April 18th, at the Hopkins Senior High School in Minnetonka. Lily Chin is this year's keynote speaker, and teachers include Chris Bylsma, Donna Druchunas, Edie Eckman, Margaret Fisher, Susanna Hansson, Ginger Luters, Sally Melville, Judy Pascale, and Joan Schrouder. More than 20 vendors will also be on hand throughout the day, including Black Water Abbey, Kimmet Croft Fibers, and The Yarnery.

In the Forum: Taking Time
Margie shares what's on her knitting wish list: more time just for knitting. Is she alone?
