Knitter's Review

Mermaid on a platter

Last week's review proved that animal, vegetable, and mineral fibers alike can happily coexist in the same yarn.

Guess what? There's more. This week I show you Mermaid, an intriguing worsted-weight alternative that's spun in Turkey.

In the Forum: Kitty Training?
A kitten recently joined Robin's household, and already there's trouble. It won't stop attacking her yarn and her knitting. How do you train a kitten to stop doing this?

This Weekend in Washington
The Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat celebrates its 10th anniversary this weekend from Thursday to Sunday at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma, Washington. While registration for workshops is now closed, you can still pick up on the Madrona vibe by attending evening events led by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and Cat Bordhi. Don't miss the marketplace, which is open and free to the public all four days of the retreat.

CRAFT Moves Completely Online
Earlier today, CRAFT Magazine announced that it was ceasing print publication and shifting its focus entirely online to craftzine.com. Be sure to bookmark it and check back often—it's an ingenious and inspiring place and I look forward to watching what the future brings.

As always, I thank you for your readership and your support.

Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the Forums!
