Knitter's Review

Angora Tweed and a leaf from the yard

I lamented the loss of Garnstudio Angora-Tweed when I heard it was no longer available. An understated Merino-angora blend, Angora-Tweed was on my short list of favorite yarns because it knit up easily and produced a beautiful woolen fabric in heathered colors.

This story has a happy ending, though, because Angora-Tweed has been brought back into the market. Wondering if the yarn had changed much since my first review in 2004, I picked up new skein and started swatching.

This Weekend
Couldn't make it to Rhinebeck last weekend? Then tank up your car and head to western Massachusetts this Saturday for the fourth-annual Franklin County Fiber Twist. This year's indoor marketplace moves to the Greenfield High School and features the cream of the vendor crop—folks like Foxfire Fiber, Botanical Shades, Kristin Nicholas, Kangaroo Dyer, and Journey Wheel, to name a few. The marketplace is open from 9am to 4pm and entrance is, as always, free.
