Knitter's Review
September 25, 2008
fall leaves

The publishing world seems to love big numbers—365 knitting patterns, 101 one-skein wonders...I'm reassured this week by a new book that limits its focus to seven. That's a number I can handle, especially when it's about tangible techniques for making my sweaters look better.

The book is Margaret Fisher's Seven Things that can "Make or Break" a Sweater. Let's see what those seven things are.

This Weekend in Oregon
Definitely meriting a road trip, the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival takes place this weekend at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby, Oregon. This relatively young festival already has a strong following and an impressive lineup of vendors, demonstrations, and workshops. Spinners, don't miss the parking lot fleece sale on Sunday from 9 to 11am.

In the Forum: Does She Dare?
Jen has spent ages knitting a sweater. When she reached the sleeves, the colors started to pool in very obvious ways. She tried a few things but it just got worse. Frogging (ripping out all the stitches) seems like the only option, but she just can't bring herself to do it. Any words of wisdom for her?
