Birthday peonies surrounded by brushed mohair and silk

Yarn is like food. We can crave the most unexpected things.

This week, I have a hankering for brushed mohair. Practically speaking it makes no sense. It's summer, and I should be thinking of cottons and linens. But I want the fluff.

Alchemy Haiku to the rescue. One skein holds 325 yards of shimmery, ethereal goodness that serves as a perfect palette for Gina Wilde's colors. Shall we swatch?

In the Forum: Knitting for the Seasons
One thing about knitting is that it takes time. Often we'll start a project in one season and not finish it until that season has passed. We're discussing the notion of planning our projects to suit the season when we anticipate finishing the projects. Do you think about this, or do you knit whatever you want, whenever you want?
