Knitter's Review
November 8, 2007
what's your handle?
Last winter everybody was knitting tote bags. Everybody but me, that is.

I tend to carry around a lot of heavy stuff and don't trust a knitted shoulder strap to do the trick. Yes, I could've picked up some of the prefab handles they sell at my LYS, but I haven't found any that I really like.

And then I went to the New York State Sheep and Wool Festival and discovered Homestead Heirlooms. I like their beautiful and entirely tote-worthy leather handles.

This Weekend
This newsletter comes to you from the Seven Hills Inn in Lenox, Massachusetts, where the sixth-annual Knitter's Review Retreat is about to begin. I promise full details, with lots of pictures, next week!

For readers west of the Mississippi, consider a road trip to Farmington, New Mexico, for the Best of the Southwest Fiber Arts Festival. The event, held November 10 and 11, spans all the fiber arts, from knitting and spinning to quilting, weaving, felting, and crocheting.

In the Forums: A Room of One's Own
For some of us, the only space we have for our stash is a basket in the corner of a room. For others, it's the room itself. Do you have a room dedicated to your knitting?
