Royal Llama Silk in casual cables

Poor llamas. No matter how gorgeous or soft their fiber, they're always playing second fiddle to their more glamorous and costly cousin, the alpaca.

Plymouth Yarn's new Royal Llama Silk yarn may change this. It puts our lesser-mentioned camelid friend squarely in the spotlight. I swatch it this week to see how it performs under pressure.

This Weekend in California
The Knitting Guild Association's huge national conference, aka the Knit and Crochet Show, takes place this weekend at the Oakland Marriott City Center just across the bay from San Francisco. The event features classes and a huge marketplace as well as a fashion show and silent auction on Saturday evening to benefit the Helping Hands Foundation.
