Knitter's Review
September 20, 2007
who says statues can't knit?

I'm just back from Lenox, Massachusetts, where I worked out final details of this year's fully booked Knitter's Review Retreat. To keep myself awake during the seven-hour drive, I relied on my trusted road-trip standby: books on tape.

Only this time, I skipped the Agatha Christie mystery in favor of—get ready—a knitting book. You heard me right, the era of knitting audiobooks has arrived. This week I introduce you to Knitting Out Loud.

This Weekend
If you love fibers and are in the mood for the unusual, head to Maine September 21-23 for the 31st annual Common Ground Country Fair in Unity. Common Ground is all about local, organic, sustainable living—from the exhibitors and vendors all the way down to the foods you can eat at the fair (no fried Twinkies and no caffeine). Fleece and fiber have always played a part at Common Ground, but this year's Fleece Show and Sale schedule is a festival in itself, with lectures and demonstrations going on all three days.

In the Forums: Faint Finishings?
Some knitters work in a linear path, starting and completing each project as they go. Others of us have several projects working in tandem, each in varying states of completion. This week one longtime member muses on the question: Why don't I finish things?
