Knitter's Review
March 15, 2007 Yarn isn't the only unruly item in our knitting bags. Anyone who's knit with circular needles knows that they have a mind of their own. Keeping them orderly inside your knitting bag is a challenge. This week I try out two new cases designed expressly to let you carry lots of circulars while on the go. Airplane Knitting According to a recent TSA brief on this subject, while knitting needles are allowed on airplanes, individual Security Officers may still deem them a weapon and confiscate them. To avoid this, they recommend traveling with circulars that are less than 31 inches long, and that you stick to needles made of bamboo or plastic. Ironically, they will allow you to bring a crochet hook to "save the work you have already done" in case your needles are confiscated. Do you have a story or question?
