Knitter's Review
November 2, 2006

sock yarn and shallots

Knitting needles are like chef's knives. They come in several shapes and styles, each ideally suited to a specific technique or material.

This week I look at two knitting needle sets that, although both are made out of wood, perform quite differently. First, Lantern Moon Destiny circular needles made of rosewood and ebony in Vietnam, and then Blue Sky Five-Inch Double Points made in India of Surina wood from the Lal Kohla tree.

As you may discover, packaging isn't always the whole story.

Featured Event
This weekend knitters in the Baltimore, Maryland, area are in for a treat as Stitches East rolls into town. While workshops may be full by now, you can still enjoy the enormous needlearts market.

In the Forums: The Reverse Curse?
You've heard about the curse of the love sweater, where a relationship ends after you knit an item for someone? Well one member is wondering if she can use the same curse to ward off the unwanted advances of a male friend. What do you think?
