But I was surprised when I began knitting with this week's reviewed yarn, Ecological Wool.

Made of wool from sheep in the Peruvian highlands, the yarn has undergone no harsh chemical processing—yet it is softer and cleaner than many of its highly processed counterparts. How can this be?
