Knitter's Review
July 10, 2003

the Royal Silk gift cardIt's good to be back! We took a much-needed break last week in observance of July 4th.

For those of you here in the U.S., I hope you had a good and restful holiday. And for everyone, regardless of where you live, I hope you got much knitting done while we were away.

New This Week
We often hear yarn discussed in terms of ply, but what does this actually mean? When you sit down to begin a project, does it really matter if your chosen yarn is one-, two-, three-, or even more-plied? Yes. Learn why.

In the Boutique: Gift Cards are Here!
By popular request, we've created a new line of mini-cards that are perfect for gift enclosures or quick notes to a friend nearby. Each pack of gift cards contains eight different images that I think you'll like.

KR Retreat Update
We're very close to being sold out for the overnight portion of our second-annual Knitter's Review Retreat, scheduled to take place November 7-9 at the Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria, Virginia. In fact, we have only four rooms left. If you get put on the waiting list, don't despair -- several people have already offered to share their single if space gets tight.

In the Forums
How many of you have a stash of those "special yarns" that are simply too good to use?

Forgot your forum username or password? We'll email them to you.

July Prize
At the beginning of this year we made a collective donation to the Heifer Project. This month I'm continuing the tradition by donating five "shares" of a sheep to the Heifer Project on behalf of one lucky newsletter subscriber. To put yourself in the running, simply stay subscribed to this newsletter.

As always, thank you for your readership. Happy knitting, and I'll see you in the forums!

P.S. Do you have friends who would enjoy Knitter's Review? If so, use our simple Tell a Friend form and let them know about us.
