Unless you happen to live near a farm, finding fiber for spinning isn't always an easy proposition. WalMart doesn't carry it. Nor does Patternworks.

To make matters worse, when you do finally find an online source for fiber, it's usually just a few varieties in even fewer colors.

Fibers Galore

Fortunately, there are some exceptions. This week, we journey to a lovely online shop where you'll find every possible color of mohair-based locks and rovings for spinning. You'll also find looms, yarn, spinning wheels, and -- best of all -- pictures of everything!

Best of the Best

We also look at Interweave Press' long-awaited new book of patterns from yarn shops across the country. It's a beautiful book that left me slightly vexed.

Forum Frenzy

It's been a week since we launched the online forums, and already we have more than 400 posts. If you haven't checked out the forums, I urge you to take a look and join in!

Online Yarn Shop:
Barkas Farms / Elizabeth's Fiber2Yarn
If you ever go to a fiber festival, you'll see spinners eagerly snatching up pound after pound of fiber. We check out one source and give the answer!
