March 3, 2001

March already! For those of us in cold climates, this month couldn't have come soon enough.

Fiber Focus: Cotton

This month we turn our gaze to a different fiber than the fur-derived ones we've examined so far: cotton.

First we'll learn background details about cotton, including mercerized and certified organic fibers. Then the rest of this month we'll look at how different cotton yarns perform.

New Book for Comfortable Beginners

Statistics show that knitting is becoming a popular pastime for young professionals with ample yarn budgets. Book publishers are capitalizing on this with sleeker, more stylish how-to-knit books.

The most beautiful book thus far is from Kate Buller and features exquisite patterns from the Rowan archives. We review it this week.

Interweave Offer Continues

Don't forget to take advantage of our special discount on Interweave Knits subscriptions and renewals, valid through March 22nd. For details, click here.
