January 25, 2001
We've covered quite a lot of territory over the past five months. While reading about all the great new yarns out there, you may have accumulated a pile of handknits that are ready for their first wash.
Separation Anxiety
The first wash -- like handing over your child to that very first school bus -- can cause a lot of anxiety.
This week I show you the most common washing techniques, plus a few lesser-known tips. I also provide answers to several commonly asked questions.
Help us build the list by emailing me your favorite washing techniques, as well as any techniques you don't recommend.
End of Angora
This week we finish our angora exploration with a truly lovely blend from Classic Elite. If you like softness without fuzz, this is for you.
Winner of the Holder
Congratulations to S. Nelson, winner of a beautiful, polished-hemlock yarn holder from Tra-Bar! She was selected among the entries in our Quick Gifts for the Holidays contest. Click here to view her chenille scarf pattern.
Another Winner Next Week!
Don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter so you'll be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate to ForKnitters.com! All subscribers are eligible to win. We'll announce the winner on February 1.
Happy knitting!
Sincerely,
