Knitter's Review
August 20, 2015 Imagine having a mill at your disposal, being able to go from yarn idea to prototype in moments. The obvious alternative is to spin your own yarn by hand. Or, as in the case of this week's yarn, befriend someone with a mill. I met Sven Risom several years ago, and we (naturally) talked yarn. He runs a mini-mill and yarn company in Rhode Island. I mentioned my wish for a nice, rounded three-ply Merino/cashmere blend with a generous percentage of cashmere in it, instead of the usual 10 or 20 percent. His ears perked up. Fast-forward to last week, when I received a box of that very yarn. It's called Water Street, and I swatch it this week.
