I love the thrill of the chase, the hunt for an exotic skein only available in one little corner of the world.

But I also love discovering beautiful surprises hiding right under my nose. That's how this week's yarn came to my attention.

Frequently we see Merino blended with cashmere and nylon and twisted nice and tight for socks. But in Plymouth Yarn's Cashmere Passion, we have 80% Merino and 20% cashmere blended into a relaxed, smooth, gently spun yarn at a weight that begs for sweaters. The label says worsted, but my eyes suggest otherwise. Let's swatch and find out.

Coming Up
April 9-12, 17 of the Twin Cities' finest yarn shops throw out the red carpet for the ninth-annual Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop. That same weekend in Sanford, North Carolina, the Carolina Fiber Fest takes place at the Sanford Lions Club Fairgrounds. Meanwhile, two historic blocks of Rotorua, New Zealand, host the Creative Fibre National Festival with demonstrations, a runway show, exhibition, and marketplace.

Yesterday's News
Yesterday was a busy day in the world of textiles. Miss Babs introduced an exciting new colorway, outdoor clothing company Ibex discovered the finest fiber on the planet, and here at Knitter's Review, I reviewed an ingenious new Italian yarn. Is it any wonder April 1st is one of my favorite days of the year?
