Knitter's Review
March 14, 2013
Hyacinths in a Mason jar, and a swatch of yak/silk from Bijou Basin

It happens to all of us. One day, we look at our knitting and don't feel a spark. It usually happens mid-March after one too many weeks of cold and grey. The roads are muddy, and our love of knitting has gotten caught in a rut.

I've been seeing the warning signs all around me, which is why this week I've revised, buffed, and polished my 10-step program for staying inspired with your knitting.

Upcoming Events
Boston knitters, mark your calendars! The North Shore Yarn Crawl takes place March 14-17, and this year a dozen area shops have signed up to participate in this self-guided LYS tour. Meanwhile, the Black Swamp Spinner's Guild hosts its 28th annual Market Day on Saturday, March 23th, at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green. More than 35 fiber-related vendors from Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana will be there.

Head to the Wool House
The West Wing of London's Somerset House has been completely transformed into the world's largest showcase of wool. It's called Wool House, and this incredible installation will be open daily through March 24th. Admission is free, with ongoing workshops, demonstrations, and master classes.

Yarn Bowls?
Julia's husband cut the "O" out of a biscotti tin, she sanded the edges of the hole, and now she uses it as a yarn holder. Have you ever used a yarn bowl to hold your yarn while knitting?
