It's February 14th, and we all know what that means: Valentine's Day!

I wanted to bake you all a cake, but my oven wasn't quite big enough.

Instead, I wrote you a Valentine: 14 of my very favorite knitting things.

This Weekend in Tacoma
I'm writing this from Tacoma, Washington, where the Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat is taking place at the Hotel Murano. Workshops are full, but there are still several mini-classes open, as well as ongoing demonstrations, help clinics, author signings, and a vast yarn and fiber marketplace that's open to the public. The event runs from February 14th to the 17th, and I hope to see you there!

In the Forums: Machine Madness
Uh-oh, it looks like Robinsteph has caught the knitting machine bug. She wants to know what kinds of knitting can knitting machines do. Simple slip-stitch patterns? Lace? Cables? They're a mystery to her, and she'd appreciate your wisdom.
