In 17 days, a new year begins. I'd like to hit the "pause" button on all the frantic year-end scurrying, the last-minute gifts and holiday sales.

Instead? Let's escape into the world of three lovely finewool yarns I discovered during my travels this year.

Generational Knitting
In Denmark, a cross-generational knitterly collaboration is taking place as several avant-garde fashion designers are partnering with a group of octogenarian handknitters. The designers give the ideas, which the knitters translate into three-dimensional form—and then the finished products are sold at boutiques in Copenhagen. Here's the full story. Heifer Fundraiser
Just a few more weeks left in our 10th-annual Heifer International fundraiser, and already dozens of communities around the world are going to have a brighter, easier time thanks to your generosity.
