Is novelty yarn making a comeback? Most people hope not.

But according to several yarn companies exhibiting at The National NeedleArts Association trade show earlier this month, novelty yarn is coming back. It's now called "fashion yarn," and in moderation, it may do well. Here's what else I found at TNNA.

This Week in Alberta
Head north to Old's College in Alberta, Canada, for Fibre Week, which begins this Friday and runs through July 2. There's a full line-up of activities including a fashion show, merchant mall, fleece shows and sales, and a cashmere spin-in, as well as classes in knitting, spinning, dyeing, embroidering, felting, and weaving.

In the Forum: Stitching and De-stressing
Becky was told to reduce the stress in her life. While she couldn't quit her (very stressful) job, she did the next best thing—she took up knitting. And it has definitely helped. Does knitting fit in your own stress-reduction plans?
