Only a special yarn can carry an entire book of patterns. The yarn has to have widespread distribution, lots of fans, ample creative possibility, and a pretty stable history.

This Weekend in New England
Venture up the coast to my back yard for the Fiber College on Penobscot Bay. This friendly community event takes place in Searsport, Maine, approximately four hours from Boston. The outdoor marketplace features more than 30 vendors, and workshops include not only knitting, spinning, weaving, and dyeing, but also things like chair caning, quilting, and wood carving.
