It's December! Are you ready for the holidays? Or was that a collective groan I just heard?

While I can't help you bake cookies or write cards, I can give you some great knitting-related gift ideas. Share it with your friends and family. Or better yet, take a peek for yourself.

And I also have a full report for you from the 7th annual Knitter's Review Retreat, which took place in Williamstown, Massachusetts, the weekend right before Thanksgiving. We had turkey and snow and oodles of yarn.

December Heifer Challenge
The Chinese Taoist philosopher Lao Tzu wrote, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." The work of Heifer International spans both sides of that proverb. Not only does the organization give livestock to deserving people around the world, but Heifer also teaches those people how to care for these animals so that their impact can grow with each generation.

For the seventh year in a row, I am supporting the Heifer International with a year-end Knitter's Review fundraising effort. If you find yourself in a position of even modest abundance this year, I encourage you to contribute to this worthy cause.
