Knitter's Review
June 8, 2006

the first cherries of the season

Knitters have a strange habit of posing absurdly hypothetical questions to one another. "Would you go a month without food if it meant you could have handknitted qiviut sheets?" one will begin. Another interrupts, "But what if there were no qiviut. Would you do it for cashmere?"

Inevitably the conversation turns to the desert island question. You know, if you were stuck on a desert island and could only bring one yarn with you, what would it be?

I was thinking about that question earlier this week, and I realized that I have yet to review one of my all-time desert-island yarn finalists. So without further ado, may I present an in-depth review of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino.

Calendar Highlight
Calling all New Englanders! The sixth-annual Maine Fiber Frolic takes place this weekend at the Windsor Fairgrounds in Windsor, Maine—about a three-hour drive up the coast from Boston.

In the Forums: Stash for Life?
And speaking of absurd hypothetical questions, we have a good one for you this week! If—for the rest of your life—you could only use what was in your yarn stash, how long would it last you, what would you do with it, and how would you cope when you ran out?
