Knitter's Review July 29, 2004
|
I love learning about history, especially when it is presented within a familiar context.
That's exactly what Anne Macdonald does in No Idle Hands: The Social History of American Knitting. The book offers an enlightening look at how knitting has shaped women's lives throughout American history. Lucky for us, it's back in print, and I review it this week.
In the Boutique: Protect Your Library
Have you loaned your knitting books to other people, only never to see them (the person or the book) again? Let our knitting-themed bookplates bring your wayward books home!
Fall Retreat Update The third-annual Knitter's Review Retreat will take place November 5-7 in Syria, Virginia. Although the weekend spots are now booked, we do have a waiting list for anybody interested, and there's still room for Saturday visitors, so learn more and register to join us.
In the Forums: Moth Prevention
You've done your best to protect your stash from moths. But what should you be looking for, anyway?
