Cats have their pillows, children have their blankies, and we knitters have our security sweaters.
Fickle Favorites
Security sweaters are the soft, comfy sweaters we wear on gloomy days when we need a little extra reassurance.
I thought nothing could come between me and my security sweater, a lovely oversized turtleneck in Rowan Chunky Soft.
But after just a few minutes with this week's yarn, I realized that my life -- even with ol' Chunky Soft by my side -- was incomplete.

Charity Knitting: Special Knitting Forces

Special Knitting Forces is an organization dedicated to bringing comfort to civilians during wartime, especially to babies and children. The organization is currently working to collect one million hand-knitted sweaters for the babies and children of Afghanistan.
If you're interested in helping the cause, you can use any of your leftover yarns and knit the pattern provided on the Special Knitting Forces Web site. There you'll also find information about where to send your finished projects.
